The story of Absolut Berlin

Less hotel more local

Guesthouse Pension Absolut Berlin was established by Jacobus van Oort in 2006. Mr. van Oort, a Dutchman living in Berlin, was operating a guesthouse travel agency initially.

The travel agency was called “Absolute last Minute Berlin”. This later led to the name of the guest house “Absolut Berlin”.

Over the years more rooms and apartments were rented and furbished. At the end of 2008 van Oort decided to return to Amsterdam. Amongst his friends Kerstin Zimmermann and Tom Fuchs showed the passion to take over and continue to run the guest house. Since January 2009 the little company trades under the name of “Absolut Berlin Pension & Apartments Fuchs Zimmermann GbR”.

The aim of the new operator is to provide guests a stylish, clean and comfortable accommodation, yet to make the rents as affordable as possible. For business travelers they offer a local and charming alternative to the boring hotel chains in the city. Tourists always find the best tips to attractions, current events, shopping and night life scene in the districts of Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte and Friedrichshain. They even run an extensive Berlin Travel Blog on their site especially for their guests.

Kerstin and Tom are always ready to create a very open and friendly atmosphere. Guests are invited to come up with questions and suggestions at any time.
